Cooling Tower Siding / Louvers / Partition Walls
The casing and louver both serve the purpose of keeping water in the cooling tower and its basin.
Casing
Any hole, crack or leak through the casing causes loss of air through the fill. The closer the leak to the top of the cooling tower, the more dramatic the effect to the tower.
Louvers
The louvers minimize splash out while maximizing the amount of airflow into the cooling tower. Keeping louvers free of algae, moss and scale to prevent increased static pressure and a reduction of airflow. New Fiberglass louvers are UV protected and offer long life while being virtually maintenance free.
SQN can also provide turnkey services when it comes to the replacement of asbestos casing and louvers.
Partition Walls
Wind checks in the bottom of counterflow towers are important, especially in cooling towers with open end walls. These partitions reduce the amount of water blown out of the bottom of the cooling tower by wind and help direct the airflow properly. Keeping partition walls intact by renailing when necessary.
